Behind the Work
Where It All Began
Linda Detwiler Burner is an award-winning photographer and artist based on California’s Central Coast. Her work spans photography, glass art, and custom creative pieces, all rooted in a deep love for capturing meaningful moments and telling visual stories.
Her journey with photography began at just eight years old, when she received her first camera at camp. From that moment on, she became the one documenting life. Family, friends, and eventually entire communities. What started as curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion.
Over the years, Linda has worked across a wide range of photography styles, including landscapes, portraits, events, and photo storytelling. Her work has been featured in juried exhibitions across California and beyond, earning multiple awards and recognitions. She has also spent years involved in photography communities, both learning and leading.
But her path hasn’t been linear.
After building a career in information technology, Linda eventually returned to her creative roots, leaning fully into photography and art.
A pivotal moment came during a trip to the Central Coast, when capturing a sunset image reminded her why she started in the first place. That photograph, later titled “New Beginnings,” marked a turning point, reigniting not just her creativity, but her sense of purpose.
Today, Linda creates work that reflects both skill and heart. Whether she’s capturing a portrait, photographing a landscape, or designing a custom piece, her goal is the same. To create something that feels real, meaningful, and lasting.
In addition to photography, Linda also creates glass art, including mosaics and stained glass pieces, and offers custom products using her original images. Her work continues to evolve as she explores new ways to bring creativity to life.
Now based in Los Osos with her husband, Linda is living out a long-held dream of building a creative life on the Central Coast. Sharing her work, connecting with others, and continuing to create with purpose.
